1.     phenomenal: (adj.) very unusual and impressive

e.g. The view out from the window is phenomenal.

2.     repetition: (n.) doing the same thing many times

e.g. Casual conversation tends to be filled with repetition.

3.     silence: (n.) complete absence of sound or noise

                    (v.) to make someone stop talking, or stop something making a noise

e.g. The silence was broken by a loud cry.

4.     acoustic: (adj.) concerned with sound and the way people hear things

e.g. She was backed by acoustic guitar, bass and congas.

5.     activate: (v.) to make something start working

e.g. We must activate the youth to study.

6.     beam: (n.) a shining line of light from the sun, or a lamp

e.g. The beam from a flashlight showed a beggar sleeping at his doorstep.

7.     deafening: (adj.) if a noise deafens you, it is so loud that you cannot hear anything else

8.     frequency: (n.) the number of times that something happens

e.g. Accidents are happening with increasing frequency.

9.     high-pitched: (adj.) high in pitch, as a voice or musical tone.

10.     innovation: (n.) a new idea, method, or invention

e.g. The innovation of air travel during this century has made the world seem smaller.

11.     lethal: (adj.) causing death, or having the power to cause death

12.     offensive: (n.) a planned military attack involving large forces over a long period

2.WASP: is an informal, sometimes disparaging term [1] for a group of high-status and influential White Americans of English Protestant ancestry.


Harvard University, historically a favored university for the WASP elite.

















3. Prefixes:
[ori-] =) beginning (orient, original, orientation)

[hypo-] =) under (hypothesis, hypodermic)

[en-] =) become stronger (broaden, encourage, enlarge, deepen, strengthen, widen)

4. Suffixes:
[-thesis] =) statement (hypothesis)

[-ly] =) adv. (exception: friendly, lovely, elderly, deadly)
